The Australian Red Cross has received for information about people who may have been on the boat which recently sank north-west of the Cocos Islands.

We have been told that individuals can contact the Department of Immigration and Citizenship directly to ask about their loved ones.

If someone has any information or requires information about the rescue off Cocos Islands, they need to telephone 131 881 and select option 1. They should then be able to speak to someone who can help.
